1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how 2FA - Your Data Safety (the “App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the App, visit 2fa-datasafe.com, contact support, or make an in-app purchase. The developer identified on the App Store listing is responsible for the processing described here. You can contact us at support@2fa-datasafe.com.
This policy distinguishes information used by the App on your device from information you choose to send to us and information handled independently by Apple. It should be read together with our Terms of Use.
2. Our approach to your data
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share your authentication content with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use it for advertising profiles. The developer does not transfer your authentication secrets, verification codes, or private content to third parties.
There is a limited, separate exception for purchase-consumption information sent to Apple to assist with a refund request, only with your valid consent, as explained in Section 6. Support correspondence you choose to send is also handled to answer your request.
3. Authentication information and device data
The App uses the authentication information you add to provide its two-factor authentication functionality. Account labels, setup secrets, and generated codes are sensitive; do not include them in support emails or screenshots. We do not require you to send this content to our support team.
Data retained on your device is subject to your device security and operating-system settings. Any device backup or transfer you configure through Apple is governed by the relevant Apple settings and policies. Do not assume that uninstalling the App, losing a device, or changing devices will preserve your authentication information. Keep recovery options provided by each account service.
4. Information you send to support
If you contact us, we receive your email address, message, attachments, and any technical details you voluntarily provide, such as app version, iOS version, and a description of a problem. We use this information to communicate with you, investigate the issue, and maintain a record of the resolution.
Please remove passwords, authentication codes, setup QR codes, recovery keys, financial information, and unrelated personal details before sending a message. If we need additional troubleshooting details, we will explain what is needed. We do not use support correspondence for advertising.
5. Subscriptions and payment information
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. We do not receive your full payment-card number or banking credentials. Apple may provide transaction or entitlement information needed to verify purchases, restore eligible access, and determine subscription status.
Apple processes payment, tax, fraud-prevention, and account information under its own terms and privacy policy. The information available to us may include a transaction identifier, purchased product, purchase or expiry date, and subscription status. We use purchase-related information for subscription administration and support.
6. Refund requests and limited sharing with Apple
If you request a refund for an in-app purchase, we may provide Apple with relevant purchase-consumption information to help assess that request, but only after obtaining your valid, separate consent. Depending on what is available and relevant, this may include time spent using the App, an anonymous account identifier, total purchase amount, and total refunded amount. An identifier may still be considered personal data if it can be linked to you or a transaction.
This information is used for refund review, not advertising. Accepting these terms or this policy does not by itself constitute consent to this disclosure. You may decline or withdraw consent by contacting support@2fa-datasafe.com; withdrawal stops future disclosures for this purpose and does not undo processing already lawfully completed. Apple makes refund decisions under its applicable policies. Requests concerning information already held by Apple can also be directed to privacy.apple.com.
7. Purposes and legal bases
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information necessary to provide requested support and manage purchases in order to perform our agreement with you. We rely on consent for the optional disclosure described in Section 6. We may rely on legal obligations for records we must retain and on legitimate interests for proportionate security, dispute handling, and service administration, subject to your rights.
We limit processing to the purposes described here. We do not treat your use of the App as blanket permission for unrelated data collection or new uses that require a separate legal basis.
8. Permissions and your choices
If a feature asks for access to a device capability, the applicable iOS permission prompt explains the requested access. You can review and change permissions in iOS Settings. A feature that depends on a denied permission may not work until permission is enabled.
You choose which accounts and content to add, whether to contact support, and whether to consent to refund-related disclosures. You can stop using the App at any time. Deleting the App does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.
9. Retention and deletion
Device-held information remains subject to the App’s available controls, device settings, and any backups you maintain. Before deleting information or uninstalling the App, ensure you can still access your accounts using recovery methods supplied by those services.
We retain support correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed to resolve a request and address related follow-up. Purchase and dispute records are kept only as necessary for subscription administration, applicable legal duties, and the establishment or defense of legal claims. When those purposes no longer apply, we delete or anonymize information under our control. Contact us to request deletion of support or other personal information we hold.
10. Security and account recovery
We take reasonable measures appropriate to the information we handle. No device, application, transmission method, or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device with a strong passcode, keep iOS updated, and use only trusted software and services.
Two-factor authentication reduces certain account risks but does not prevent every form of phishing, fraud, or unauthorized access. We cannot reset passwords or recover accounts belonging to other services. Contact the relevant service if you lose access to one of those accounts.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to processing, or receive a portable copy of personal information we hold. You may also withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Send requests to support@2fa-datasafe.com. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity, but never your authentication secrets. We respond within the time required by applicable law and explain any lawful limitation. You may complain to your local data-protection authority. Requests about Apple’s independently held data should be directed to Apple.
12. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, or below the minimum age at which consent is required under applicable local law. We do not knowingly request personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent personal information to us should contact support so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
App Store age ratings describe content suitability and do not replace local rules about a child’s ability to consent to processing or make purchases.
13. Website, external services, and international processing
This website does not set advertising cookies or include advertising trackers. A hosting provider may process ordinary connection information, such as an IP address and request details, to deliver the pages and maintain security. Email services similarly process messages as part of delivering support communications.
Links to Apple and other external services are governed by their own policies. Where support or related service processing involves another country, we use safeguards required by applicable law. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to personal information we control.
14. Policy updates and contact
We may revise this policy to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or our practices. The updated date at the top identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel, and we will obtain consent where required before introducing a new consent-based use.
For privacy questions, deletion requests, or concerns, email support@2fa-datasafe.com. Website: https://2fa-datasafe.com. Please describe your request without including any passwords, authentication secrets, or recovery codes.
